About Mount Elbrus climb tour

Mount Elbrus (5642m) – the highest mountain of Europe. Well known program 7 summits include Elbrus.

Mt. Elbrus is situated in the south of Russian Federation, in Caucasian region, not far from Georgian border.

Mt. Elbrus is a dormant volcano. It has two summits: the East summit (5621m) and the West summit (5642m).

You don’t need any special climbing skills to reach the top – only good physical shape and positive attitude. It’s good to be your first summit. And, of course, you need good guide, who can give you best acclimatization and can solve all problems on the route.

Price

The price is 600 euro

It includes: transfers from Mineralnye Vody airport and back, hotel, cable car, mountain refuge, meal in refuge.

Not includes: avia tickets, insurance, meal before and after going to refuge (it’s better to have maximum enjoy of cheap and tasty Caucasian food and choose what you want), extra days in hotel (if you go down earlier). Group can hire a snow-cat (ratrak) in summit day, to go up from refuge (4000m) to 4600m.

climb Elbrus from the SouthItinerary

Day 1. Flight to Mineralnye Vody airport and transfer to hotel on 2000m (about 3,5 hours).

Day 2. Acclimatization hike to Mt. Cheget to 3300m and go down.

Day 3. Go up on ski lifts to 3700m. Acclimatization hike from 3700m to 4200m and go down.

Day 4. Go up on ski lifts to 3700m with backpacks. Hike to refuge on 4000m.

Day 5. Acclimatization hike to 4800m and go back to refuge.

Day 6. Summit day. We will climb Elbrus and go back to refuge.

Day 7. Reserve day in refuge.

Day 8. Go down to hotel.

Day 9. Transfer to airport and flight.

This program is optimal for the best acclimatization. Program is may vary depending on weather and state of health.

Elbrus climbing tourEquipment

Down jacket, GORE-Tex (or similar) jacket & trousers, warm trousers, warm mittens, warm hat, balaclava. Mountain plastic boots, crampons, poles. Sun-protection glasses and means of sun-protection for the face. Sleeping bag (for overnights in the refuge), thermal bottle. Backpack, head lamp. For acclimatization hikes: trekking boots (or sport shoes) and rain proofs.

Season

The best season to climb Elbrus is July and August.
